Upcoming Changes

I have several exciting changes coming to the salon over the next few months. I wanted to share everything in one place so you know what to expect as I update my pedicure setup, booking system, and business systems.

Pedicure Services Are Changing

After seven years of providing traditional water-based pedicures, I’ve realized that my current setup is no longer sustainable for me physically. The low working position, lighting limitations, and amount of time spent leaning over the pedicure chair have been affecting my back, hips, and vision.

Over the next three months, I’ll be transitioning from traditional water-based pedicures to dry pedicures.

What Is a Dry Pedicure?

A dry pedicure is a professional pedicure performed without soaking the feet in a water basin. Instead, the feet are treated using professional products, hot towels, and steam. The nails, cuticles, and callused areas can then be carefully prepared using professional electric-file techniques.

This allows for more precise work while creating a cleaner, more controlled working environment.

My New Pedicure Setup

I’ll be investing in an electric pedicure chair that can lay completely flat and adjust to different angles and heights.

The new chair will allow me to:

• Adjust the chair to a more ergonomic working height

• Have better access to the entire foot and calf

• Perform more precise electric-file work on calluses

• Provide a more thorough massage

• Bring the feet closer to my working level for greater precision

• Reduce strain on my back, hips, and neck

The traditional water basin will be replaced with hot towels and a steamer.

The new setup will also allow me to use additional lighting and a dust collector more effectively. This will help reduce eye and respiratory exposure while allowing me to see and prep the nails in greater detail.

As an added benefit, a complimentary mud mask will be included to all pedicure services.

Complimentary Jelly Soaks & Paraffin Wax

While I use up the remaining products from my current pedicure setup, I’ll be offering complimentary jelly soaks and paraffin wax with services, while supplies last.

I’ll also be switching to an unscented paraffin wax, which will allow me to use the same product for other services, including facials.

Paraffin wax will remain complimentary until my current scented paraffin wax supply is gone.

Pedicure Booking During the Transition

For now, online pedicure booking is temporarily closed because I can only safely accommodate a limited number of pedicures each day while I work through this transition.
